Thread: To the 5th

It has come to my attention that some comments and actions have been made by my clan that have been demeaning toward the 5th and or its members. I want to express my sincerest apologies and express to you that behavior that goes beyond good natured banter will not be tolerated. I have included the text of the post I made to Victrix so that you may read it for yourselves. I appreciate the matter being brought to my attention and hope that this does not stain future relations / events between our clans.

"It has come to my attention that some unwanted comments and actions have been made on TTP by VTRX members that while - intentions may have been harmless, were taken to heart by those that witnessed them.

Someone or Several have made comments publicly and in game, to include squad names, that have put down the 5th in a way that goes beyond simple good natured rivalry. We will not demean anyone in the 2142 community, especially TTP members and especially not our brethren in the 5th.

Though names have been mentioned, I think it is not necessary for anyone to talk about it, single them out, or even step forward out of honor and state that you are guilty of creating a squad called "5th Sucks" or going into the forums and putting down the 5th or it's members.

As I mentioned, I think the intention was good natured enough, but it is an ill advised escalation of rivalry.

It's one thing to state that Victrix is going to put the beat down on the 5th, it's one thing to state that the 5th exists to be nothing more than lubricant for our blades - it's another thing entirely to state that the clan or it's members suck, are worthless, are no good... etc.

If there is a problem with an individual, feel free to express your knowledge from a standpoint of fact but always conduct yourself in a manner that conveys courtesy and respect - if not for the individual that you have a beef about, than for your clan and for TTP.

I have gone onto the 5th Forum and apologized for our actions as a clan. Noone else needs to do so - nor reply to my thread over there unless Cebelius or nsRaven wish to add comments due to their position as leadership.

Nothing else need be said about this incident, merely post that you have read this and understand what is expected from here on out.

Thanks kilo. I commend you on addressing this quickly and handling it as professionally as you have. While I have no doubts the intentions were harmless, I think it was prudent bringing it to your attention. I look forward to the continuing rivalry between our clans and the other resident clans on Texas Teamplayers.

I'd like to apologize. I saw one of these squads formed and joined it to be with VTRX. I did not think of it as more than trash talk at the time, but in retrospect it was a low thing even if I didn't start the squad.

I know I've made some posts as well that probably seem to be more than trash talk as well. Regardless of my intentions, how they appear is what's important, so I apologize for those comments as well.

I've enjoyed the rivalry with 5th as it's been quite a bit of fun. All of you have been quite nice to me despite some of my earlier actions around when I first became active on the forums. I feel very badly about this and am again sorry.
