I had a TIA or "Transient Ischema Attack", or mini-stroke. This is usually a warning sign of a possibly more serious condition, and that is why I've been in the Hospital since yesterday morning, having test after expensive test performed, to be sure I don't have that more serious problem.

I'll probably not have any long term problems, and the current symptoms will likely go away in time. But, as you may imagine, this will cause a change in my lifestyle, starting with reducing stress. So, playing online games will have to take a back seat.

I may be off the radar for a time, but I'll keep in touch and let you know how things are going.

    I'll be in touch.

    Re: Just a heads up...

    Hi y'all!

Dropped in to give an update, and to see how y'all have been. UPDATE: With exception to being numb from my left ear down to my elbow, I am doing fine. To put it in war-game terms, the bullet grazed my helmet... a very close miss.

The details are: There is a small vein located in the back of every persons heart, that as a fetus is used to pass blood gasses out of the babies bloodstream, into the mothers. Normally this vein closes off after birth and there is never a problem for it. However, there is 5% of the population; myself included; where this vein does not close, and go thru their entire lives without any trouble.

Well I made it 53 years. A small bloodclot found its way thru the little open vein, into my bloodstream, went straight to the brain, and a stroke happened. A mini-stroke actually (fortunately).

There were three possible outcomes for this occurance. First, is what happened to me. Second, I could have been seriously paralyzed or otherwise dibilitated. Third, I would not be writing this post, or anything else ever again.

Oddly enough, there are three possible solutions for my condition. First, Open-heart surgery, and everything that goes with that. Second, they run up through my femoral artery and place a clamp on the vein, closing it off. Not a bad choice, except if the clamp comes off, I'm a goner. Third, and my personal favorite, take a 325mg aspirin every day. I'll take curtain three Monty!

I've been spending more time doing familial activities, and less time online. Trying to re-focus on work and home. Anything that lowers stress levels is good.

Which is why I'm writing all this for y'all to read, rather than repeat it a kazillion times, one-by-one, till everybody has heard the story ad nauseum.

I know this is a lot to take in, but be assured, I am doing well, and eventually (hopefully) the numbness will subside.

Thats it! now whats been happening?

Very glad to hear you're doing so well, and will not require anything more invasive than the daily aspirin.

Hopefully the aspirin is an oral tablet.
