recently ive beenn having a really big issue where the game itself starts to like lag its not my connection cuz my ping is fine its like the actually game is lagging. It does it like once a day and then its fine. But to fix it i have to restart my whole computer i tried just restarting L4D but that did not work i still had the same issue..and i dont know how to fix it

Try closing up L4D when this happens and bring up Windows Task Manager to see if anything's eating up your system resources. For Windows XP, Ctrl-Alt-Del will bring up a dialogue allowing you to select Task Manager, not sure about Vista or 7. This should let you see if there's any programs running that are becoming resource hogs. Since it's happening once daily, my guess would be that there's a scheduled system task, like a virus scan or update taking up resources.

ok i tried that and there is absolutly nothing else running in the background i had my bf look at it who is a computer wiz and hes not sure what is causing it either..it started doing it w/cod4 also now i just get rly laggy and my fps drops to like 12 fps...
