    I even asked it on Steam Support, zero replies in 3 days. I'm guessing they even don't know what's the problem.

    Those campaign files could be located in those pak01_ files.

    The only thing I could suggest at this point is uninstall again. Uninstall steam. Go in and manually remove any remaining folders in the steam directory. Check in %APPDATA% and make sure there's nothing there as well. Then reinstall steam and reinstall l4d2. If that doesn't fix it then it has to be something in registry or windows itself causing it.

    Ah. So basically when you uninstalled last time it didn't remove EVERYTHING. So something in steam itself was likely the culprit. Glad it's resolved.
