It's technology, not technolegy. Get it right, and we will give you some memory.

AMD is actually better for gaming right now. Thy keep squeeking by Intel on the gaming benchmarks. However, they are just barely squeeking by.
I am getting sick of the ATI/Nvidia video card wars. When I bought my latest card, 2 months later, they introduced the new lines, including the x1900 series. My card will last a little while, but it is frustrating since I spent $450.
I will probably buy another AMD in November, but I will see what Intel has to offer.
If you want do do some good reading, check out www.tomshardware.com. I also subscribe to MaximumPC and Computer Gaming World. 1UP.com also has a good message board for PC stuff.
You are right about being happy without overclocking. If I could, I would go without overclocking. F.E.A.R doesnt run as well if I dont overclock, so for now, if I want to play that game, I will continue to bump up the FSB.
Whatever you get, let us know the specs when you purchase. I too am saving for a new system, but I am budgeting $1500. Plus I am still playing on my Sony CRT. Maybe it is time for an LCD.
