Good to know. I'll have to check that out tonight when I get home. Thanks!

    Way different now; but better!

Rather than only holding land that is in your city radius, you have cultural borders. You have corporations and religions now also. Plus units get promotions as they become more experienced (City attack, Flanking, Healing, etc). Also, each Civ has special abilities, units, and building types...

Really it's so much different you just gotta play it to get the idea... but it is well worth it. I have never been let down by a newer Civ version except that one that was not actually by Sid Meier... umm.. Civilization: Call to Power or something... was not very good. But the Core Civ 1, 2, 3, and now 4 plus their expansions have been rock solid since I was a youngster.

Well, I'll have to give it a try then. How does the multi-player work?

When you start the game and select multiplayer it asks if you want to do same computer, LAN, IP, or Internet. We simply create a password protected room, and invite everyone who wants to play.

Is there a limit as to how many people can play?

I'll have to play it single player for a bit to get my bearings then I'd love to join a multi-player game.

Back when games were still DOS based my friends and I used to play this really simple strategy game called "Empire". It was one of the first "graphics" based games we played on a PC. We would have to take turns on the same computer and we would play it long into the night and early morning. Good times. :9

Hmm. This looks like it might be interesting. Who wants to shove me off the fence?

I think I saw some rooms with 9 players, and I think I heard JB say something about 16 or 18, but not positive. We have played with 4 so far plus 1 or 2 computer players.

Wow. That many players at one time would be great. I just got done reading about the game over at http://www.2kgames.com/civ4/home.htm Looks pretty cool.
Now I'm going to read about "Beyond the Sword". That should kill the last ten minutes of my day..

Beyond the Sword is a must. Adds so much fun. Corporations and more Civilizations and Leaders. Corporations are great because if you spread yours Globally you no longer need taxes because the Corporations make you that much money you can spend your taxes on Espionage and Science or Culture.

Played my first Civ 4 game. Got attacked and lost. But I displayed the leadership of Dan Quayle. I quess that means I sucked. I'll have to put alittle more time into it this weekend.
