02-16-08, 01:31 AM #1Current Computing State
Well for those of you who do not know, I am a computer Nerd. I have not had a working install of Windows XP since early Wednesday afternoon. I have been in various forms of Operating Systems. I was in PC-BSD, Fedora, Windows XP 32bit. Now I am currently on Fedora(new install from the previously mentioned one) I am on Fedora because PC-BSD did not have a very active community. Some forums had only 3 posts in the last 4 months....but Fedora when I logged into their forums this afternoon had 6000 users on at once! So that made up my mind for me.
I have Fedora installed. Xfire will be up shortly, I will not have access to games until sometime on Tuesday afternoon or Wednesday because I installed a 64 bit Windows XP and go figure, my school network does not like it...I must go to IT and have them clear my MAC address for me to get access to the internet. Which then will hopefully decrease my ping slightly because packets will not be inspected as thoroughly. I chose XP64 because I can then use all 4GBs of RAM that I have, which will be nice. I will not have to log into my schools Cisco system since my MAC address is all fixed up.
But back to the main thought I had in originally posting. I will be out of the game for the next few days. I will have access to the forums, no ventrilo(teamspeak though) and soon I should have xfire up and running. I will have access to another computer so if I need to get onto the internet and get stuff going for anything I can get there, just no games for me this weekend.
All in all this will be an upgrade. Hang tight with me and keep me company on the forums/xfire while I am unable to get in game.
Also I will be cutting back on my ingame time in general. During the week I will be loading up into Fedora(linux) and that means BF2 will not be available. I can always reboot into Windows if I am done with school work. I just really have to hit the books. So I hope Linux helps me accomplish that goal of less gaming and more studies which in turn I hope increases my GPA. I will still be TTP hardcore though, so forums beware!
So a long post later, I am done. Maybe writing this has given everyone else time to post so I have things to respond to.

Just so you know, we'll be even more bad ass upon your return. So you might be down to NEARNOOB status... But we're brothers in Arms, so we'll be happy to show the ropes yet again....!

Keep me occupied though with posts! I'll be here almost 20/5 and then in the game 24/2!
