Unsuccessful forum search...so I thought I would pose the question here. Quad core rig with GTX 560. L4D runs great with every option on high..no problems..lag free etc. But Im just curious why when I choose "Recommended settings" it has all defaults as the lowest possible settings..lik 4/3 and 600x400 resolution..everything low, etc. Like it does not recognize the card or something. Now before when I had the Nvidia GTS 250 it had legitimate settings to provide. No big deal...just wondering if anybody experience this with the first LEFT4DEAD...not the sequel.

Never had the issue myself. It never turned everything to the highest settings, but it never made it low either.

You're right, it doesn't really recognise the card, but don't worry about it...

Valve hasn't updated the game's database for GPUs, and so newer cards like your 560 have no 'recommended settings'.

Yea i had the same problem with my ATI RADEON 6550 left 4 dead 2 would recommend all settings on low but the games runs great with everything on high. Valve just needs to update their GPU database.
