Attaining Brigadier General doesn't take much effort. With the bonuses you get for teamplay as well as the points you earn for awards, it really doesn't take long at all. I think I had Brigadier General 3 or so months after starting playing. Then again, I was playing primarily 2142.

You might not have 150000+ points like those of us who have been playing since the onset, but I took a 4 or 5 month break from playing and am just minutes shy of the 800 hour mark. In BF2, I don't even have 700 hours of playing time and I've just recently reached 2nd Lieutenant. I reached Brigadier General probably 400+ hours ago.

I found out afterwards that Son of Bryn 2 was downloading City of Heroes (about a 2 hour down load) while I was playing - so hopefully that was the reason for the hi ping as I can't ever remember being kicked for hi ping before.

Yes I played PR pretty much all day yesterday.... I don't know what happened, but I am not so close minded anymore. PR is fun shit. We did well in the tank yesterday. Man that was fun!

I'm anxiously awaiting the Newest game for Texasteamplayers, hoping to get in at the start to attempt to stay on top..., we'll see what the future has in-store for us.

But like with BF2, I tend to have a lot of fun on the BF2142 server, and with all the fun players, can't help but have fun.

Believe it or not, RV, my next rank, I believe, is my first officer rank (Cheif Petty Officer silver)... I think, tho I'm not sure, cuz I'm not as versed with naval rank structure, that's the equivalent of a butter bar (only a silvered version, I suppose chief petty gold is more the butter). ...To compare.. I'm not even CLOSE to butter in BF2.


I have a funny kinda story that goes along with the origional purpose of this thread. After Mustafah's post, I wanted to follow Rooster's good example. So I'm in 2142 a couple days ago, and there's this player who ended up in my squad a couple times. Very vocal, awesome with the teamwork.. yet a name I'd not seen before. I thought to myself "This person would be a great addidtion to the forums and ranks of reservists."

So I mention the forums to said person... which got me laughed at. ..Not a reaction I was expecting. I asked what was funny.. and the person tells me that I know them. Then it clicked.. the voice DID sound familiar... Sure enough, one of our intrepid (AND SNEAKY!!) well known members (among other things), had themselves in under a different player name.

I felt more than a little embarassed. I tried tho, Rooster, I really tried to follow your great example!

You know what always works for me when something or someone is blocking my way... I send the FNG in first and follow up with the sloppy seconds. Now that's teamwork!

I've played the decoy often enough myself too. What can I say, it works.
