LoL Walker, nah, I like ya', wouldn't even consider it. It's just my Samoan blood, for the most part i'm an old teddy bear. Hell man your the one that works on a farm all day, all I do now is sit around most days doing tattoo's, drinking beer, and getting fat in my old age lmao. I do still go fishing 6-10 days a month, but that involves a fair amount of sitting and beer drinking as well. Most of them farm hand types are hard as rocks, and tough as nails.

Quote from soy "http://not-your-base.com/oreth/ I recently built a blog for my campaign and have barely started adding stuff to it. As you can see, one of the players has started writing a book to chronicle their current adventures."

Read the first paragraph and instantly was reminded of Feist. A seriously good read. Having read quite a number of authors of this genre I became enamored with D&D during the eighties. I could write quite a hefty tome in regards to fantasy writing so will get back on topic!.

So gentlemen. Do you still play old style D&D or is there a PC version that you play. Having not played for at least ten years I do not know whats happening out there.

I am a DM and have been for 20 years or so. We are currently using 3.5 edition rules, but we were using 2nd edition rules until a few months back; and here they are about to release 4th edition. We plan to continue using the 3.5 rules for now however. I started with the original D&D set (like Ax posted) but quickly moved into AD&D and then just a few years after I really got into it, 2nd edition came out, and I played those rules for the bulk of my time as a DM.

I also play a lot of computer based RPGs: the Elder Scrolls, Bio-Ware's D&D series, Wizardry, etc. But a computer is no replacement for a human mind when it comes to the characters being able to do anything they might imagine. That being said, I have not used NWN's, or NWN2's dungeon master features. It seems like more work and still limited unlike a pencil & paper RPG.

    Re: DnD

I dabbled with the toolset in NWN for a little bit, and the whole time I was thinking "I bet DM's around the world are making some killer content" , but alas since i'm no programmer, and eventhough whatever that language is in NWN was easy to learn, I always had to keep going back to the tutorial I found online and reference the syntax and code. I bet you could make a killer campaign Soy, and if you ever do, count me in for sure, that would be one way some of living cross country could play a lil D&D. Hell I might even break out NWN, dust it off, and have a look at that toolset again. I made a very short campaign with a childhood friend of mine who I use to play pencil and paper with. It turned out pretty good, but since I usually have alot of different things going on, my mind wandered, and I never got back to it. Never even went and bought NWN2, but if it's better i'll go and get it as well.

Might be cool if some of us started building, swapping, and playing campaigns based on the NWN engine. If anyone's up for it, post here, or pm me, or whatever.

I'd join you too. I can't design a campaign worth crap but I'll bring you some characters that you won't forget. I have NWN and NWN2.

I play NWN on Reconstructed Nordock server. Just started playing again. Its cool in a different way. Combat is much faster, no people to BS with around the table, but the faster pace makes it easier to do more in one session. Currently I am dredging along in blacksmithing, boring...but I want better weapons.
