So folks. We have many fans among us I know. But did you guys know about Civilization Revolution?
http://www.civilizationrevolution.com/
It is the 360, PS3 and DS version of the amazing PC game. I am going to most likely get it for the DS. I'll let you all know how it is after I play it a bit.

OK, Let me just say to those bastards over there at Sids place.... NOT the best strategy game ever made. Perhaps the most advertised strategy every made, sure I'll give it that.
On another note.... the trailer looks bad ass! It might be even playable with this level of graphics. I think I'll download the demo this weekend even.
Thanks JB, I know you and Rooster play on occasion, and with this new Civ, I might even join you guys.

To stack units you need 3 of the same and then it becomes an "Army of _________" insert unit name. There are no workers to build improvements. That is ok because many of the building will take over doing what those improvements would have done any how. Roads are built between cities very easily (at the cost of some gold variable on distance between cities). The diplomatic screen is more or less "Declare war" "Peace be with you".
Things I liked, the fact that advisers were brought back. They give you advice on things. Like the Military Adviser will tell you "Their armies are weak but dug in well. You could fight this war but it will be a costly one."
Caravans return. Caravans were used to increase trade between domestic and foreign cities they were lost but return in Revolution.
Victory Conditions are different. Only 4 ways to win. Economic, you have 20,000 gold in the bank and build the world wonder "The World Bank". Cultural, have combination of 20 Great People and Wonders of the World. Dominance, capture and hold for a turn all the Capitals of the world (eg. there are 5 Civilizations you hold 5 capitals). Science, get to the end of the science trees build a space ship and reach Alpha Centuri first.
It is quicker than a PC game but that is mainly because it is a hand held system or console. I enjoyed myself I played through a full game (I won by Domination) in 2 1/2 hours.
There is multiplayer. For the DS there is local games (if there are multiple consoles in the same house more or less) and then there is also over the internet.
I have not tried multiplayer games yet.
