hey i keep getting kicked by punkbuster handshaking crap and i did both of the options gmg gave me and i keep getting kicked??

anyone know wat else i should do?

I had that shit last night on another server. It's frustrating especially when you wait for the map to load and then get booted off.

Swift, what seems to work for me is rather simple.. if I get the PB error on TTP, I go and join an empty server that has punkbuster running.. then I leave it and join TTP with no problem. Another thing that has worked for me is to simply reboot my PC.

one interesting piece of data i know is that i always keep PB up do date and i dont get any issues... and Hoo_da_MUNK never updates.. and he has no issues.. so from that data i think its is a server issue or connection issue more than a malfunction on your machine

What OS are you running on first of all...depending on OS I may be able to answer your question.

Like Walker, I too just reboot, and it seems to work. I've noticed that it usually happens to me when I change my AV software's options. I normally don't surf or do anything else with my game rig, I save all that stuff for the other pc's, but when I do, I turn on all my AV software(McAfee Securitycenter from Comcast) before I view any webpages. When I go to play BF2 I turn all that off, and clear most running processes out for the best in-game performance I can get. That's when I get that handshaking thing, ofcourse I leave the PB processes running. Don't really know why it does it, but it does it every time. Now if I leave it alone, which is the case most days, all the AV options are already set, I log in, and it's smooth sailing.

Well, I'm on Vista and this worked for me if its the problem, I'm not sure if you have it or if its just Vista, might as well try it. You need to go to: Control panel>>Administrative Tools>>Services, find the PnkBstrA and PnkBstrB(should be next to each other) check if they are both started, if not, right click and start them, if they are both started then I'm not sure what to do. if one is missing then you need to get the PBSVC thing that installs the PnkBstrs.
