My job blows....

o trust me i would have. but when your job is fixing computers then they tell you when you come in monday your gonna be piling horse shit in the stables thats a big nono.

when i told my supervisor (in tech support) that im quitting he said he figured that i would and he told the big wigs when the decision was made to switch me, it was a huge possibility. everyone understood why i quit and it was actually expected. maybe a bit too expected......

but my supervisor, and the CS supervisor both came up to me and said i handled myself in the situation in the most professional way they have ever seen and they would even help me writing a resume and as references. so im not worried if they called this place. that plus i was in the top 2 performers in everything i did for 2 years i did, im not stressin this place giving me bad references.

edit: also dealing with 2 years of constant bs (which my direct superiors recognized).

Find a job you would love to do. Pay increases will come easy when people see passion in the work you do.

Heck, I've been at my job for just about two years now and besides forced vacation, I haven't used up a single one of my days off. There is nothing quite like being happy to drive to work Monday mornings - Don't settle for anything less if you can help it.

Toker - I thought you were also an engineer? You're getting an MBA with that kind of background?

ill probly come in on monday (in board shorts and a tank top :P ) to talk to the head HR to get everything squared away and ask some questions, ill see if she knows anything about that. im cool with her too so im sure she would let me know anything if she knows

in addition to the 2 weeks thing, seeing as how im completely switching my job, half of that 2 weeks would be training. not worth it to the company on that one.

If you hate tech support, maybe it's a good opportunity to consider focusing on a job you would enjoy - maybe even going back to school if necessary? Furthering your education will also help expand that wallet too.

Since you willingly resigned from the post, and for reasons other than personal safety or relocation of residence, -- you will not likely be able to collect unemployment.

I don't blame ya btw.. going from tech-support to a sales/billing position, with a paycut.. not appealing. This same thing happened to me about 8 years ago when I was 19. I quit too, and went to school.
