So I just ordered myself some new toys. As end of the year presents for myself.
I am a big MMO guy as a few of you might know so I thought what better than a gamepad to help me out, it is also useful I've read for FPSes too. Keeps the buttons close at hand. So I was between the Belkin 52te and the Logitech G13. I've been reading a bunch of reviews from various sites and I decided to go with the G13 because of
1: Larger size, I have big hands and am reading that it is large and it is also hefty enough not to slide all over the place.
2: I have read it is more comfortable than the N52te. I think that one of the biggest things that would have to be considered with these sorts of devices is long term comfort.
3: Availability of buttons, there are simply more buttons on this device than the N52te. There are 22 'G' keys vs 15 total programmable on the N52te.
4: It have an LCD display, while it is only a feature not a real selling point, I have the G15 Gaming Keyboard and it has the display as well. I love it for things like vent and others. So when on my laptop away from my desk's G15 the display will be nice.
5: Matching gear, like I just said I have the G15 and this would look really slick next to it.
6: I must admit, I am a Logitech fanboi. I've had many different Logitech devices over the years and they've always out lasted other devices. I have an old wireless mouse I use with an entertainment system that has lasted 3 years longer than my Copperhead and is still going strong!

Second toy I've gotten myself is the Logitech G9x. I wanted to get a replacement gaming mouse for my Copperhead that is no longer functioning properly (either won't click or won't stop clicking). The G9x has a variable weight system to make it to my comfort style. It also has a few programmable buttons on it. I really don't need many, mainly one for PTT on Vent/TS and then anything extra is gravy. And this has a few and then different profiles too. PLUS it matches my whole Logitech setup I'm going with.
So has anyone got personal experience with any of these? The G9x or either the G13 or N52te? I'm curious to see if I'd made the right choice with the gamepad.

Re: Peripherals
no idea, but I love my g15 except I have a key that is sticking and upon inspection appears to be worn out. Looking at the g19 but its expensive as hell. Thought about the game pad instead of keyboard since i could just keep my keyboard and game with the gamepad. looks more ergonomic so that might be a good reason. havent made up my mind, other toys are on my list...

Re: Peripherals
You made the right call with the G13. I absolutely love mine.....I have had it for about a year and a half now( in fact,it replaced my N52te because of the reason below).
You use itunes? There is an incredible app for it (Thundersticks?). You can control itunes with the lcd....killer.
I also have one for BF2....
Vent,TS3,Xfire,e-mail........
Plus it is 10X more comfy and better built (including software) than the Belkin (I have one of those too...it blows compared to the G13). Also, the Belkin uses Razor software, and if you have a Logitech joystick......the Razor software over rides the Logitech, rendering your joystick useless.

This is that itunes applet.

It is made for the G15v1,but it works just fine on my G13 as well.
Here is the BF2 one:

Both sites make you register, but it isn't a bog deal....no spam at all.

Very comfy...even after long hours. They are sort of tiered,so you can keep your fingers a little straighter too....which also add to the comfort. Your hand just rests naturally right on the. I have fairly large hands (and we know what that means....X-Lg. gloves) and getting to the keys at the extreme upper corners isn't too bad (perfect for Tab,Edit ect.).
The joystick wouldn't be a good idea to use for WASD,but the thing is so comfy, you won't want to. I will never game on a normal keyboard again after owning this thing.

I just bought a refurb G15 v2 for $48... Sadly, finding ANY of the original G15s in full working condition is next to impossible. The ones on eBay all have broken keys or other issues (and they still want $30+ for them.) Every once in a while you'll get a new in box v1, but they end up going for $200+.

so the mouse, I'm liking the feel so far. I've only been really doing web browsing, no gaming as of yet...I've got to setup a profile for the G13 still. I've got em all unpacked. I am surprised by the size of the G13 but then again everyone wrote that they were surprised by its size when they opened it up.
