Re: the third "bad day" thread today...
that's exactly what I fear for my brother, imisnew. I'm worried that he'll end up in big trouble someday and also worried that when my mom finally kicks him out, he's gonna come moochin' off me D:
we're not entirely sure what he has either, he's been diagnosed with tourettes (although when he was like 3, he's grown out of it), bi-polar, Conduct Disorder, and a few others that I'm forgetting. my dad had an idea that we'd pay for his apartment, buy him internet, buy him food, do all that and just make him get a part time job.
but yeah, he's already got a criminal record for cutting the cord to the computer, and a few incidents when he was younger but I believe they were wiped clean.
I just fear for his future and everyone's future who has him in their life -_-
He seems like a nice guy from my experiences with him. He is a bit quiet though.[/]

Re: the third "bad day" thread today...
as for me and my mother's safety, I do honestly fear for it. the mania in bipolar is supposedly addicting, like it's fun for them to do this stuff. However, my parents said they cant really do anything as far as institutionalizing him right now, although he is certainly not getting the computer back this sunday. What they said is they're going to go a week or so without giving him internet, that way he'll pretty much do something crazy (it's in his nature, he can't live without internet). So, when that time comes, they call police, have him spend a bit in jail, and then offer to bail him out only if he goes to the institution.
the problem with this plan is: when he finally does explode, what's going to happen? if it's something deserving of calling the police over, shouldn't we be trying to avoid said situation instead of waiting for it?
He seems like a nice guy from my experiences with him. He is a fucking adult and has no business doing that to you. Not only does he sound like a grade A douche, but the law certainly needs to get involved. If he is that bad now to his family, he will only be worse to the public. I think a few weeks/months in lockup will do him some good.
I am sorry you are going through this. Tough it out and just don't make the same mistakes he is. You will turn out 10x better than he is. Remember this 5-10 years from now when he calls you up asking to borrow money...

the thing is, he doesnt do this in public, he's comfortable with us so he acts this way because we're part of his family. I just wish he'd learn that behaving actually gets you much further

I would also make sure he gets into an institute with group therapy. That really helps, at least it did for me. Part of it is getting more than person offering you advice and the other is seeing that there are worse people than you. I'm going to respect my group's privacy and not say anything, but being an eight year schizophrenic put me on the mild side of things. If you need to talk, just shoot me a PM and I'll hop on steam or xfire.
