So I bought a 55" sony HDTV

For 2k, and got a PS3, HDMI cable, some dvd, 3d glasses...for free. I'm pretty sure we'll be selling the PS3 since I really don't want the clusterfuck of having 2 game systems tangled around each other.
(When I say "I bought" I mean my family, of course)

our old TV? standard def, 36", 12 year old JVC that weighs more then me...you could say it's an upgrade

Now we just need to figure out our FIOS box upgrade and cables for HD and all that annoying junk that seems to accompany HDTVs

the TV arrives at best buy in 2 days, cannot wait to get it set up

Anyone know if I need a HDMI cable to hook up my 360 to the new TV?

I googled it and found mixed results...some said yes, some said your xbox comes with it already prepared some said only xbox elites/pro (whatever it is) come with it...

I have the xbox with a bigger hard drive, cant remember which...its like 1 step up from the Arcade(the plain one I assume)

It depends on whether or not the sharpness of the picture matters to you. The component cables do the job, but the HDMI just adds the extra crispness that makes the picture look really nice. Also, pretty much every Xbox 360 now comes with the HDMI out, so I would guess your's has it, but to be sure, if you have a new black 360, you're fine; if its a older white one, check right below where you currently plug in the A/V cable and it should be right there.

Thanks trooper, my Xbox is white but the manufacture date is 2009 so I think I'm ok, but I'll check tomorrow anyway

DC, I have no idea and it's not up to me anyway...I will post here whenever we figure out what we'll do with it, and how we'll sell it...might just be local
