I have started a Folding@Home team for TeamPlayerGaming and am looking to recruit others to join...
Folding@Home is a distributed computing project being run by Stanford University. Basically, users donate their computer hardware by running "folding" applications that simulate protein folding. These computers work together, essentially creating a virtual super computer to process simulations. Protein folding has been shown to be linked to many diseases and even cancer. Studying protein folding may one day help us find a cure.
Lots of people are participating in Folding@Home in a way to give back to science and research. It doesn't take much, other than running an application on your computer when you go to bed at night or when you are not using your computer during the day.
For more information, please refer to the following site:

The cool thing about Folding@Home is that they have applications that actually use your GPU to process the work units. With the advances in AMD Steam Processors and nVIDIA CUDA Cores, graphics cards have become incredibly efficient at processing this work, even more so than beefy CPUs. I am currently simultaneously running both of my GTX 570s as well as my Core i7 CPU for folding work units.
If you are interested in joining the team, please let me know. I am currently the only person on the team. I could easily join another folding team, but I thought I would bring the idea to TeamPlayerGaming first. There are a lot of giving people out there, and I thought this would be a good way for us to give back.
If we recruit enough people, I will sticky this thread. If we get a lot of people, we could even look into giving folding it's own sub forum.
