Hood to Coast '11
Hey all,
Tomorrow is the annual Hood to Coast relay here in Oregon. And I am running it again! This is my big comeback guys, I got out of shape in the last few years, But I dropped 20 pounds this summer and have been running 6 miles 2x/day every other day for a couple of months.
I am doing three legs: The first leg is 7 miles but almost a 2000' change in elevation. Running hills is my specialty, but that is steep ... in weight lifting terms running downhill is like doing negatives. My other legs are 4.5 miles of rolling hills, and another leg at 3.5 miles and flat... So 3 legs at only 15 miles, but this is gonna kick ass!

Wish me luck!
Didn't realize it is the "Officemax Hood to Coast" now ... lol @ corporate sponsorship.

Re: Hood to Coast '11
Turns out I got the legs wrong: it was three 6 mile legs. The first one was a 1500' descent, the second one was uphill and the third was rolling hills.
Leg 2: 00:48:57
Leg 14: 01:12:00
Leg 26: 01:04:12
I should have some pictures coming up... My legs are flippin' killing me today, but it was awesome! I am so motivated to get my ass back in shape.

09-02-11, 04:55 PM #9I wish I was able to get out on the mountains out here more. My goal of joining the 4000 club is still high on my todo list. Which is getting to the peak of each of the 48 4000'+ mountains in NH. Traveling a lot of the AT while doing it as well.
