Sorry for your loss man. I own 3 cats and dread the day that I have to do any of this. I feel for ya.

My last night with the Dude. I did not know how abrupt it would end.

I am pretty disoriented by this; I have seen a lot of friends and family die in the last decade, I have changed relationships (one lasting seven years), moved towns, went back to school after fourteen years, soared to new highs and sunk to some new lows. But throughout all of it has been my little pal; blinking, purring, sleeping on my belly while I sleep. Animals are so innocent in their inability to conceptualize right or wrong. My one constant for twelve years of tumultuous change has been the least judgmental best friend one could have.

I don't think any loss I have ever suffered quite feels like this. I feel guilty for saying that, considering the people I know who have passed on. Although I feel that this is not necessarily more sad, the world feels hollow now.

I am having him cremated and intend to plant some fruit trees where I spread most of his ashes on some family property. The rest will sit on my shelf, next to Fenrir and other creatures of legend.

You would never be able to tell he was in pain soy. You did him good. In your times of need he was there and likewise I see the love you had for him being returned.

I feel for you Soy. I lost my doggie of 12 years earlier this year.
