Re: AG is leaving Texas....
I lived in Englewood, CO for one year immediately following 9/11/2001. I lived around in the area between Broadway and Santa Fe. Nice area with good folks. Stewart Anderson steakhouse was one of my great memories. Make sure you know how to drive in snow, because they don't tend to let it shut things down.
Heading up into the mountains on 70 west is fun, but is expensive. I definitely recommend taking some time to head up there and appreciate the absolute jaw dropping beauty of the mountains.
The eastern part of CO is like Kansas. Farm land and flat.
Lots of stoners and lots of meth heads. Very pervasive drug culture.
Inner city Denver has its down areas, but is one of the more tame cities I have seen (as opposed to Atlanta, DC, and LA).
No matter how bad a day you are having, when you look west and the mountains cut up into the sky, you feel small, insignificant, and better almost immediately. This became a regular coping mechanism for me. I loved having those mountains right there.
Congrats and enjoy yourself. CO is awesome. I moved back because all my family, support system, and friends are on the east coast.Everything under the sun is in tune, but the sun is eclipsed by the moon
