Thanks to Kanati we now have a crop/alliance/coalition independent jabber server setup for EVE players. Anyone is welcome to join if you want to have out of game chats. Below are instructions from Alundil on how to join us, and if you need any assistance please contact him or myself.

If you're interested in joining this chat/planning/theorycrafting/etc/etc you can follow these steps.

1. Download a Jabber Client (Pidgin is most common)
Pidgin, the universal chat client
This is a multiplatform chat client (can connect to a large variety of messaging services in one unified application so that's nice.

2. Once installed you go to the "Accounts" menu and choose "Manage Accounts"
3. Click the "Add" button.
4. On the "Basic" tab change the protocol to "XMPP"
5. In the username box enter what username you'd like to use
6. In the password box enter what password you'd like to use
7. In the resource box you can specify which resource you are creating this on (i.e. It is possible to have jabber installed on multiple machines/devices/phones/tablets etc and the resource field specifies which of these is connecting to the server - for example I have jabber installed on laptop, desktop, android phone and tablet (that client app is called xabber on the android store) and it's possible to connect them all at the same time as different resources)
8. In the domain box enter "jabber.magicunbound.com" without the quotes
9. Check the remember password (if you want)
10. The local Alias is used if you want some displayname other than your username
11. You can choose an image thumbnail as well if you'd like
12. Check the create this new account on the server box
You should not need to alter anything on the other two tabs (Advanced/Proxy)

Once the account is created the only other thing to do is join the "Room" that we all hang in.
1. On the "Buddies" menu select the "Join a chat" menu option
2. In the account box your account "username@magicunbound.com/alias" will probably already be selected
3. In the room box enter "Public"
4. In the server box enter "conference.magicunbound.com" without the quotes
5. In the handle box enter whatever Handle you'd like (this can be the same as the alias from earlier or entirely different)
6. Leave the password field blank
7. Select "Join" and that ought to get you connected to the rest of us.
