So it would seem that there are quite a few people taking interest in EVE and are not sure what it's all about. I am far from knowledge in EVE, but this article was very helpful for me and I am sure it will be helpful to any other newbies out there like me.

Yeah, I thought I was acclimated until tonight. I was in my first big fleet battle. I know there were ~70 of us including a carrier against 7 of their carriers+support. It was fucking awesome (except for the lag...couldn't warp out before I was popped), but it was very overwhelming. I think I've decided to move into mid-range fleet artillery as a result. Right now, my laptop most definitely cannot handle being in close to that, and I can at least lay on some target painters to help with primary damage

. At least I had everything insured and the isk to easily refit including my implants...

i hate getting podded based on lag. good chance in a battle the size it wasnt you it was the server. i was trying to make it out for the big titian carrier battle a few months back. the lag was so bad it was hitting me about 3 jumps before i got there. they closed the gates made me so mad

Yeah, I thought that battle was bad until the one where our fleet had several of our own carriers only to get ambushed by a 20+ carrier fleet (luckily, we only lost a few bcs including mine and 2 stealth bombers although those were due to some idiots on our side warping to 0 on them...FCs kicked them very quickly). I know now that when I'm desynched to log.
