Still, 9 months is a pretty long time for a game...that's still 135$ before you can start making isk to pay for yourself. Granted I'm sure if you start out in a corp like ONIN or a bigger one, you will get it pretty easy considering how helpful most corp members are when it comes to isk making.

who says it takes 9 months? you can run 4s in about a month. do enough of those and you are set.

Ok, so 2-2.5 months, screw me. the bottom line is if you are actually PLAYING the game you can make enough isk to pay to play the game. If you log in every couple of days, update your skill queue, then log back out then yes, you better have real world cash to pay for the game.
