No, you won't. You won't have to buy the game, because it's going to be totally F2P.

Sony hosts on their servers, you make an account and everything because like Option said it is an mmofps.

It is always up, no round ends, no 'winning' either though. Just a constant war with two maps that make even Arma maps look tiny.

For perspective, one hex in in PS2 is about the size of a big BF2 map and PS2 has several hundred hexes.

If there is a large fight over a hex you can usually 'hot drop' there with an instant action button so you aren't waiting for a taxi service lol.

They are going to implement a thing called "Continent Locking" Where your empire locks the rest out of the continent for a period of time. Basically that's the only win situation you get. But that doesn't make it any less fun.

Yeah but even with continent locking it isn't as much a win as it is an achievement.

No 'round ends' with stats shown etc.

I don't like the idea of no rounds I have to be honest.... I like timers on when I should stop playing haha! Thats why BF3 is great - Skyrim I forget the time and it suddenly is 2:30 AM...

Haha, Max. But that's the mark of a good game. You hop on at 9 and start playing. You look at the clock a little bit later, and it's suddenly 1. Means you were having too much fun.

I once logged on at 9pm thinking I would only play an hour or two.... at 3am I logged off and felt like I had run a marathon.

You don't HAVE to buy anything at all but that option is available.
