Thread: Steam account hijacked!!!!!!!!!!

I was up late last night/this morning installing and trying out Arma 3 Breaking Point, in the process you must be whitelisted and they ask for your steam info. After I went to bed someone from China somehow accessed my account and purchased 3 not cheap Final Fantasy games! INSERT ABOUT 48 BLEEPS HERE!!!!!!!!!!

OK, so now what? So Steam has locked my account and is refunding me the money for the new games, which is the sum of all the games I've ever purchased on Steam combined. I'm thankful this was all done but I am having trouble finding where they want me to send the email with the specific info to unlock my account. They tell me exactly what I need to send, one thing is they want my card info....I'm kinda skittish about sending this, I trust steam but I mean something had to happen here. I'm sure I will find it, I could send it as a general message to Steam support but I'd rather it went directly to the correct people. They have the info from the computer this was done on I wish I could go over there and sledge hammer this person's life goals of eating solid food.

Just thought I would share this and I hope this doesn't happen to any of you.

Buddy of mine has had his account hacked twice. They sold all of his GO skins and stuff the first time. Make sure you turn on Steam Guard when you get it back if you haven't already.

Better run AV/AM scans to make sure you aren't running a keylogger or something you aren't aware of.

Yeah, super glad you got your account back, but what kanati said - definitely make sure you're squeaky clean before progressing

And set up steamguard AFTER. And change email pws.

I've sent the info I was told to and did several scans, found a few things but nothing I think is the culprit. I'll be changing emails and deleting old ones. Now I'll just be waiting on steam which if I remember correctly, they take their time.

never save your cc info on a site ethier any site i find that to be a bad idea
