Sorry about my absence.
So I've had a couple of changes in my routine of late. One is my dad, hes become ill rather suddenly and to the worst degree I've ever seen, so Ive been stopping there after work, and spent the better part of last weekend doing all the things he needed done around the house. My dad is an amazing guy, always has a myriad of projects going at the same time, and even though he got sick, this weekend was no exception. The prognosis of his condition is still unclear, there appears to be a tumor on his pancreas and a biopsy is scheduled for Monday. We have our fingers crossed.
Since this has kept me from getting a good night sleep, i have been playing AoC as a "diversion" of sorts. After all, its new and exciting in the sense that I've never played a game like it, and its something i can play with my wife. I find it relaxing to an extent, whereas after a few ass kicking rounds of AIX or BF2 I'm ready to go out and hit the town!
So that explains where I've been, and why I'm not on the battlefield every night. After a couple more weeks, I'll get back into some more BF2 provided things go positive for my dad. If things don't, then i may not be gaming at all for a while, but thats not something i want to think about, I'll cross that bridge IF i come to it.
I check and post on the forums every day, and apologize for not being as active in the arenas we are known for, I hope that this is simply a transitional period on the levels I've already mentioned. But i cant help think that i may be coming to a major crossroads in life, I'm sure you all can understand.
I'm off for a couple of hours tonight, need to stop at the parents and take my son to a school concert, he's playing the Cello tonight.
Catch ya later!

Re: Sorry about my absence.
Hope your dad feels better scott, dont worry about being gone, we will always be here for ya! I have also been gone a lot mainly because finals started today and go for almost 2 weeks. Also I have been working for neighbors and around the property trying to get things ready for summer and have been helping down at a freinds with some of his odd jobs. I should be on much more after the 18th because that is the last day of school for me. I will try to keep playing on the weekends but a number of these are occupied untill school is over also. Have fun all! Hope to see you soon scott!

Re: Sorry about my absence.
Thank you for all the kind words, it might sound corny, but you guys have been like family for the last two years and i appreciate the support. Thanks.
Update. My dad has been admitted to St. Peters Hospital in Albany today. His condition has really deteriorated over the last week and a half. And as with all old school blue collar men of his generation, you cant talk him into going to the hospital, you wait until hes too tuckered out to fight back! They have him in good hands and are nursing him as i type this.
The "good" news is that the results of the first biopsy came back negative for cancer. Yes there is a tumor that needs to be addressed, but its not cancerous at this point. There are more test results to come so we are waiting with baited breath.
And finally, as if there wasn't enough drama.... My youngest son fell in a creek on Saturday and managed to slice his leg open on the dirtiest filthy nasty rock in the creek. We spent 6 hours in the ER waiting to get the wound addressed. We arrived there at 8:30PM Saturday, and they finally stitched him up at 2:30AM Sunday. And frankly the ER doc did a shitty job at best, hes now fighting an infection, and there may also be a fracture of the Tibia that they missed altogether. We mentioned that while waiting, but what would an ex-plumber and a bookseller know about broken bones? Anyway, we address that with yet another doctor visit tomorrow. I'll keep you all posted. I'm taking a nap, its been a hell of a week so far.
