    You need the disks to install it as well, which would be the biggest issue (and i'm not going through EA downloader crap again, biggest waste of $10 ever)

    The Steam version includes SF... It just doesn't have shortcuts to it for whatever reason. If you attempt to join a SF server from the browser, it starts up SF.

    Just buy the steam copy, so easy and so nice to have.

    You can probably wait and it will go on sale for the steam xmas.

    Steam only had the complete edition last time I looked, for like 30 bucks (and the Complete is usually a rip-off now as the EF and the other xp pack maps are all added in patch 1.5, so its 30 bucks for BF2 and SF when they are $20 pretty much everywhere else)

    Not really, the patches are actually fairly simple now, it used to be a massive bitch, but not anymore.
