New computer shit the bed....

Just take your time with it, make sure you don't have any built up static electricity on ya (for those of us who don't ground themselves) and triple check the seatings and connections.

I'm a newb compared to most that build computers out here in TPG land.... but knock on wood I've built 3 now and have had no problems with them minus a bad graphics card on the very first one, like I said above.. just take your time with it.

So i took my time, had one scare when it blue screened on startup... but it rebooted quickly.

In short, this setup is sick! I played some PR with all the settings on high and still pull over 100FPS in some areas, but never lower than 50 with fire, smoke and all sorts of action. Then i loaded up BC2 and tried it with the settings on high. OMFG its insane. Played about 3 missions without a hint of lag. Im a VERY happy camper today.

My computer just shit the bed as well yesterday. Been having brownouts and other power problems lately, apparently got quite a surge today but my surge protector didn't work for some reason

so I think my power supply kinda blew up. Lookin for a nice liquid cooled one now. This would be a good opportunity to add some nice upgrades to my CPU... If I had the cash.

I feel your pain. The one thing i need to scrape up some cash for is a surge protector/UPS. We had to short outages the other day and the computer didnt like it. I put too much cash into this thing to let it roast.

Yeah I found out that it wasn't really a surge that caused the power supply to fail it just overheated and had a fatal meltdown

my rig sits in a terribly bad spot and gets pretty much no airflow. Ordered a new 1000W liquid cooled PS should be here next week sometime. Looked into adding some ram. Found 4 GB for $75 thinkin about Pickin that up as well.
