Kanati will always be HRD. He has a lifetime supply of Viagra. Same for Max, Bobby, Thor, Andy, et al.

Haha I remember that game Hocus. Like I said in my OP, this was all just for fun and games, and maybe to get a little more life in the L4D community. My offer still stand though, in my mind we are the best, even out of the players that don't play anymore, and I would love for another TPG clan to prove me wrong.

Re: Best L4D2 clan at TPG?
The thing that's both fun and frustrating about L4D is that each player is really valuable. In L4D it's all about who are the best TEAM players. What I love most about it is that it's a game where true upsets really do happen. 4 OK players working well together can mop the floor with a good looking line up that's not protecting it's weakest link.
Personally, I think that "I stopped playing the game because everyone else sucks" is a load of shit. I think once the average level of skill got elevated a bit the old "heroes" couldn't take not being special little snow flakes that where so much better than everyone in the game that their team auto-won every time.
I agree that there are SOME people that "never learn" or just will never be good at the game, but they really are few and far between. I don't even need 1 full hand to count them on my fingers.
The truth is that it's a game that almost anyone with a brain and good team skills can be pretty good at.... and that's what happened. Noobs got good, teamwork became more important and being a special snowflake counted for little and less.
Once it became a game that truly depended on team play, and some good teams where dealt some hard losses by people who "shouldnt have won", fragile little egos got cracked and people quit.
In CS and other games, there's an easy side to every map and there are some people out there with pretty little K-D ratios who are ALWAYS on the easy side (unless the hard-side looks stacked). They can hide what they are a bit easier other places, but in L4D, there's no easy side, so their only option is to quit and them blame everyone else.
What I like about the remaining l4d players is that everyone is just on to have a good time. Winning is fun, but I've also had a great time getting stomped.
People that stopped playing for reasons OTHER than being little bitches/sore loosers should really consider hopping back in a game. I think that they would be pleasantly surprised... and people who haven't played before I think will find that this is a great time to start as there's a small but supportive community and some really good teachers.
ok, rant mode off
just come play.

Re: Best L4D2 clan at TPG?
You took what I said and added quite a spin to it. Neither you nor Duck know what I'm talking about. You can call it whatever you wish, but the facts will remain the facts.
L4D2 is an amazing game. It's well balanced and requires more that you pay attention than the twitch aiming of other FPSs. But, being so small means that the weakest link(s) on your team and their mistakes are infinitely more noticeable. I don't expect everyone to pick up the game and be godlike at it. Everyone will make mistakes. It's unavoidable. What I do expect is for people to learn from the big ones. And yet I still sat and watched experienced players go off on their own, or chase SI to their own demise, or make decisions with tanks and witches by themselves to the detriment of their team, etc.
And I suspect that players let up on their awareness because of the mindset that they're in it for the "fun", and not for the "win". Even if only subconsciously. The ferocity to focus and push for the win diminished. Make no mistake, there's no room for complacency in this game. Playing for fun is all well and good, but in any of TPGs hosted games, it's always about the win.
Now, you're talking out of your ass with a bunch of bullshit, and you better be backing the fuck up. You think I, or anyone else, quit because we lost a few games or because the feeling of being "special" (which is absurdly asinine) at the game diminished? Give me a fucking break. Losing is a part of gaming. Losing I can handle, regardless of who's on the other side. But the repeated mental mistakes and unawareness on the easy things in a game like this as you sit by and watch it happen again and again...it wears on you. To the point where you're burnt out and don't want to invest the time it takes just to watch it happen again.
Now, I'm bowing out of this thread before I really get pissed.

Re: Best L4D2 clan at TPG?
Frankly I stopped playing because of some of the vets trying to dictate every move that was made in the game. And Im not talking about yelling at me for chasing an SI, that I get, you cant do that. But it was more not having any room for inventiveness and rather just having the same 1 or 2 strats for every choke-point. The longest lasting games for me are the ones that dont get old, so for someone to sit here and harp on me for throwing a pipe too early or wanting to work a panic event differently is the reason I stopped playing. If I wanted to play a game the same way every time, I would play online blackjack for the rest of my life...

Dealing with uneducated gamers is part of gaming. Whether it's CS:S, CS:GO, L4D2, Battlefield series, DoD, TF2, you are always going to have players that don't know the game as well as the top skilled players. They will make the same mistakes over and over again. I think this "wears" on everyone. Either you like the game so much you learn to deal with it, or the game isn't that special to you in the first place so you decide to stop playing.
We are all different and everyone should respect that.

Well the problem here is that one uneducated player makes up for 1/4 of your team. Imagine playing another source game and having 5 players that are just really bad. And to top it off, you cant disconnect for another hour of playing with them. Its a bit stressful and becomes the opposite of relaxing to enjoy a game in your free time.

Re: Best L4D2 clan at TPG?
I hear you on that one. I sure took my lumps when I first started playing. As evidenced by this thread, this game has a pretty wicked learning curve, where even the "pros" can still fall into some pretty big newb holes every now and then. Some players will yell more than others, but I found that as you get to learn each other's play styles, people kinda ease up a bit. It's certainly a game where you have to be able to take criticism and not take it personally.
As for doing things differently, I think that's another place where you have to know the team you're playing with and against in order to have some credibility when making a call like "push though the horde" or "go straight in with the tank" or "hit before the choke."
I actually find this to be one of the LEAST repetitive FPS games I've played. Yeah, there are some standard hits in standard places, but after hundreds of hours of game play with people with THOUSANDS of hours of time, I still see new stuff.
You should give it another shot. I only played with you a few times, but I remember you being good.
