Work went great. I spent most of my time driving to the sites to pick samples up from the previous day. I figured out of the 8hrs of work I worked 30 mins of it. Sampling concrete takes about 3 mins. A truck carries 9-10 yards of concrete and I have to get a sample every 50 yards. You check the temp, slump "moisture", and compression of the concrete. Sampling soil might take a little longer but not much more. Didn't get to do any of it the first day. Wasn't to bad. Met my boss...all 7'2 of him.

It will be even better when I get my gas card and can drive the company truck home, along with a company cell phone. No gas bill and no cell phone bill. AWESOME!

Now figure out how to gain efficiency, improve procedures and make the company more money. Do that and it will be more than a job.

I have 10 years in the materials testing and inspection (mostly road construction) business. What BT describes is normal operations just make sure the cylinders don't get mixed up. Congratulations on the job. BTW, does your companie make 6x12 or 4x8 compression cylinders?

mostly 4x8 but if someone requests 6x12 we do it.
