Premium Shells or no Premium Shells?

I recently watched a video that the wargaming producers did that talked about gold rounds and how they feel it has impacted the game. Most of us agree that gold rounds should either be taken out of the game entirely or limited to say 5 shells per match. The reason many of us feel this way is due to the sheer volume of players now using gold rounds and not needing to learn the proper places to hit tanks with standard shells. We feel cheated you might say because those players do not have to have as high a skill level as it took us to learn over the last two plus years of playing the game. Wargamming disagrees. They think the skill level is only rising due to the introduction of premium rounds for silver. They have stated this will be a permenant feature. So those of us that grinded out those heavily armored tier x tanks did it for what reason since armor will mean nothing? I have been completely against the use of gold rounds in anything but clan wars. It seems like that mindset will have to change to compete now. I still do well with just AP and HE rounds on most tanks, but I lose the war of attrition every time to gold round flinging tanks. I am going to have to use gold to compete in those very close matches. Gold rounds are the new standard round and wot will not be changing that anytime soon. I would advise everyone to stock up or quit complaining...it is what it is

I am too cheap to use them. You can tell a good number of people use them. I was getting pened on my T29 through the front of the turret the other day. Not cool.

I will say this though, it does become annoying as hell that most of my shots bounce or pen with no damage.

You need to use Premium Shells to make the best MAcaroni, also use Gouda its the Bomb!

I dont bounce all that often now..I have learned places to shoot. What gets me is that crazy pen through my 300+ armor that sets me on fire and does 2000 hitpoints of damage. Happens way too often now. I am going to have to run my premium tanks more to afford to use silver on premium ammo. But as you said in the other thread...gold isnt as needed if you didnt have so many clueless players not playing as a team in pub matches.

I got fed up with getting killed constantly by players who shouldn't be penning my front. If the E-75s front armor is angled 45 degrees from you and you can still pen it at that shallow of an angle, that is total bullshit.

Any tank of mine that is Tier 8 or over is now carrying a generous portion of Premium rounds, that I am usually using instead of my AP. My E-100 has nothing but Premium in it. They have made it to where I have to stoop to the no skill level of other players just so I can be competitive. I hate it, but I am so much less frustrated with the game now that I am doing it. I mean, hell, with the first Premium round I fired in my E-100 I one shot killed an IS-7 right through his front armor on an ammo rack hit.
