Thoughts on new "Missions" and "Operations" concept

I just wondered what people's thoughts were regarding the adding of "Missions" and "Operations"?

For myself, it sounds like a good way to keep people interested. However, I'm concerned it will make team play even worse, so I think they need to ensure there are Missions like damaging x number of tanks or spotting x number of tanks such that your team damages them (instead of just killing x number of tanks).

I guess there's a lot of leeway in that concept given the possibility of being undamaged, completely damaged, having less than 10% life left... spotting, tracking, etc.

    Thoughts?

To follow up on my own question...

I think they've done OK with missions to this point. I think it's a little heavy on killing x tanks, which causes team play to deteriorate a bit because of the glory hounds. The teams that still roll together seem to win most of the time. A few of the missions here and there aren't about killing the enemy or gaining some number of xp per day or something like that. I think they could be a bit more creative, though, and balance it out a little more as well. (something like 'Get three Patrol Duty awards in one day', maybe?... or perhaps get Confederate in three different vehicles in one day?)

Ah well. Hopefully it's a living thing and will be tweaked some as time goes on.

Re: Thoughts on new "Missions" and "Operations" concept

I think wargamming takes two steps back for every one step forward at this point. I never really looked at the missions and stuff from that perspective, and that definitely makes sense. It doesn't encourage good team play on most the missions they have put out. I think wargamming only considers team battles, company battles, and clan wars as team based elements of the game and they are ok with viewing pub matches as individual focused even though it is set up as a team environment. I believe a commander tank could help Change much of that, and who knows what the developer project will bring out. But I would say missions are good for the individual with little regard for the team aspect of the game. Missions for confederate or scout or brothers in arms would be nice...but maybe make them always active...give a much higher reward for achieving such things.
