Hate to intrude on dg and guyvers lovein....but basically this.
Disc copies will go the way of the dodo sooner rather than later. It's simply more cost effective for the publishers and distributors.
Books are going through the same things (much to my sadness but it IS happening make no mistake).

DG, Steam has a feature that let's you backup games to disc. You do have to have it downloaded and installed at the time you use the feature, though. You can still have your hardcopy this way and can always have an up-to-date one if you feel like it.
