What is the housing cost up there compared to Houston? How much do I need to make CAD to survive?

I live in Seattle, so I can speak to Vancouver as it's only 100 miles north and I'm up there routinely. It's a beautiful city, and the quality of life is excellent. However, to your question, it is expensive. Not sure if you'd be living in the city, but housing downtown is insanely pricey.
