Yeah I was wondering about the prints, I had a friend that was a ceramic artist, he could just look at a pic or drawing and lay it out on a floor, wall or pool. He did some beautiful work but sadly he passed away a few years ago and I never had the chance to work with him.

Re: Huntsville, Alabama
I know plenty that have past as well. The problem with flooring and most construction fields is alcohol and narcotics. The guy who got me into the business had a massive stroke after i left his house one day. Now hes a drooling slob but i cant say he didnt do it to himself. He would bring 2 beers with and drink those as we were leaving the job just to get him to the nearest liquor store. Then it was hard liquor all the way to his house and all night long.
Last year i had a guy i knew (wouldnt call him a friend but we were pleasant with each other) doing a staircase here in orlando. He slipped and broke his neck on the way down. I've seen plenty takin out of building on stretchers doing stairs. You think that if the can of contact cement says wear a respirator and you know people that have gotten messed up doing staircases with it you might just wear the damn respirator.
I use to skip it just like everyone else until i felt it starting to kick my ass. Now i wont touch the stuff without one. It gives me a massive headache immediately. Luckily most staircases i do now are with rubber treads and risers instead of carpet.

Nope one was in florida the other was yorba linda california.
Its just the norm for floor guys which is why i keep getting all these gonvernment contracts. If you cant pass the back ground and piss test then your not getting the job.Last edited by deathgodusmc; 06-28-10 at 09:07 PM.

Re: Huntsville, Alabama
reading the print details and notes! haha! I do some cad work, shop drawings and such. I wish these guys would follow my prints. I love walking out in the shop when they say, "this crap wont work, you screwed up" Then I pull out my tape measure and tell them where they are off. I laugh and go back into the office while they cuss, having to cut it up and redo it.
Following the print will save your ass every time.
Note to self: when I get to design fancy shit someday... Lots of circles in the floor and hire death to install it!
