    Brief Update

    Hello all,

Just wanted to let everyone know that I am back in the States. We almost had our deployment extended to go provide humanitarian relief or security for that nasty super typhoon that went over the Philippines, but luckily our command decided against it since we were only like 5 days away from coming home and all the money had already been put in for us to come home.

I still play a lot of Planetside 2 and Project Reality these days, I won't be able to give BF4 a go until I get my main rig going, probably early January. No way this laptop will handle it.

I'm getting married on December 15th, so I don't know what my game time is going to look like after that... hehe I won't be non-existent but I sure won't be playing like I have been sitting in the barracks with nothing to do.

Seems like everyone is enjoying BF4, so I am excited to give it a try. I hope it doesn't dissapoint. The question is... will it sustain? ie, BF3 was super cool... for a couple weeks, then it was done, at least for me. I guess we'll find out!

    Good to see some activity.

You should give BF4 a try on your laptop. It actually runs more efficient for me than BF3 did and I maxed settings on both games.

Hopefully WE'll see you ingame, Stick. I know I'm enjoying BF4 way more then BF3.

    Also, congrats on getting married.

    Congratulations on your impending wedding!
So far I would say BF4 is a step in the right direction. The single player campaign is MUCH better than battlefield 3. The multiplayer has seen a decent improvement with the addition to commanders and 5 man squads. The maps still seem a bit small compared to battlefield 2142 as the largest on BF4 seems about the size of Seuz Canal which was a small map on 2142. Also in game VOIP works, but I have issues with hearing people every once in awhile.

    Re: Brief Update

2142 had it's "small" maps and large maps but I think with the futuristic setting, there was a lot more creative license to do whatever. IMO, 2142 did it right though. Well balanced, nothing was cookie cutter and vehicles weren't OP. It also seemed like there was a lot more spawning abilities?
