Hmmmm... did I miss some murder, mayhem, and er... clanabilism? Can't find anybody on during the day and can't get on at night, guess I will have to look for you all this weekend.

Great rounds last night. There was a lot of Clanabalism going on with Ceb, blackgold, and myself. Good times. I will definitely be on this weekend.

Well looks like I missed out on the fun again. I will try and be on for a few minutes tonight, not sure though. I will be on and off all weekend a little because my dang inlaws are here for a few days again. I am feeling a bit of clanibalism coming on too, mmmm my knife is drooling.

Star Wars MMO Estimated To Cost $100M

donniebaseball23 writes "EA's BioWare is developing its first-ever MMORPG in Star Wars: The Old Republic, and the publisher is betting big that the project will be a huge success. Wedbush analyst Michael Pachter says development alone cost an estimated $80 million, with marketing and distribution adding in another $20 million. The good news is it shouldn't take much to break even. 'We estimate that EA will cover its direct operating costs and break even at 500,000 subscribers (this is exceedingly conservative, and the actual figure is probably closer to 350,000), meaning that with 1.5 million paying subscribers, EA will have 1 million profitable subs,' Pachter noted." They're now aiming for a release late this year, but acknowledged the possibility that it could slip to January 2012. If you're curious about the current state of the gameplay, Eurogamer and Rock, Paper, Shotgun (PvE, PvP) both posted write-ups of some recent hands-on time.

Old Republic seems to be the main theme for all Star Wars MMORPG's.

If it took place during the Galactic Civil War then I'd spring for it, Empire FTW

    Star Wars Galaxies.

They fucked with the entire game back in 05', but it's still quite playable, if you can deal with it not being an original MMORPG anymore.

There a 14 day trial but once you hit the trial level-cap, there's not much else your going to want to do to actually pay for the damned thing (aside from getting Clone armor)

You might wanna look behind you.
