Walker gunning
Hey, to whichever of you guys I was repairing & gunning for last night on Remagen for a little bit- Nice job- I had forgotten that even gunning is fun it the walker driver is smart enough to not get us killed too quickly, and lets me have a stable platform to knock down those incoming gunships. Only reason I had to bail on you was my squad was going after completely different objectives on the other side of bridge, and we were living long enough that I wanted to get back to 'em.

Re: Walker gunning
That was me. If I have a gunner, I will always stand still for him provided I'm not getting pummeled. I usually try to avoid picking up gunners because most people either have tunnel vision and never see the threat coming or forget they have emps also along with forgetting to lead their target, so usually I end up just switching seats as needed.
It was great to have someone who knew what they were doing. I was disappointed when you left, but if it was for your squad then that's cool. You can gun for me anytime.

Re: Walker gunning
Appreciate it, and ditto- I usually do better without an AA guy for the same reason. I think we knocked down 3 gunships in under 5 minutes. That's the perfect map for it too, with the gunships having to stay pretty low and slow to maneuver around all the buildings. I even knocked down a gunship and a transport with the default AT missiles, which is always good for a laugh.
Yeah, my squad leader hadn't been busting on me yet (I had told him I was just along for the ride on someone else's walker, after my gunship got knocked down on the wrong side of the river- D'oh!) But it had been a while, and it didn't look like we were going to get killed anytime soon the rate we were going! :10

Re: Walker gunning
Since RottnJP was such a good gunner I thought that maybe I'd let some random guys jump in with me. So on Tampa I stopped and let this dude in when he asked for a ride. He didn't lead his targets, but at least he was watching for them. He would have been okay if he hadn't been yelling at me to "move it" when I stopped to let him shoot at the air targets. So that didn't last long.
I thought, alright, maybe a fluke, so I let another guy on. This guy was the worst. He randomly shot at anything and everything except the gunship hovering 20 meters off my left flank. And then when I was sneaking close to a tank he decides he's going to start shooting at it and totally alerts it to my presence and again...completely missing the gunship that nearly bombs us while he's doing it.
After that I'd just jump in the walker and take off before anyone could get on. From now on I'm restricting my gunner seat to Victrix, squad, or RottnJP.

LMFAO... Sorry to mistakenly give you hope for the random schmucks in the world- I'm a *special* random schmuck!
Man, the guys that open up with the MG as you're getting into position un-noticed... There should be a freakin' ejection seat the pilot can hit to launch those guys as far from your vehicle as possible. Preferably between you and the enemy they just alerted! :4
