    Catch up.

So, we are moved into the new house. I got internet (Which i fervently love) and am able to game.

The thing is, my game time will be severely cut down due to my schedule being so full now. I have an almost full time job, as well as cards with friends on fridays and sometimes saturdays. I am planning on taking some hiking trips to go rockhounding. Not to mention there is just so much more to do where i live now. I'm not saying that i won't play a game with people, but just don't get your hopes up that i'm going to come. More than likely i won't be at the computer.

I'll still be trolling the forums though...

Did everyone move this year? **Sigh** You didn't move in with Animnegra, did you?

One thing we have out here in Far West Texas is lots of rocks,Option. I could even put you up at our swank lil inn (themaverickinn.com) if you wanted to visit the area... just come out during the summer 'cause I am usually very busy during the school year... actually the visible geology is very interesting here in the Big Bend area, if you like that sort of thing.

Oh, i don't doubt that you have some very interesting geology there in Texas.

What area of Texas do you live in, precisely? Like county and cities near you and stuff. I could look up what kind of material your area offers.

    Re: Catch up.

I live in Alpine, just 90 miles north of the Big Bend National Park. Home of Sul Ross State University. At the crux of Brewster, Presidio, and Jeff Davis counties in Far West Texas. Three major mountain ranges (three different types) merge here. Down south they still find pictographs and dinosaur bones. The elevation goes from the desert floor to about 8,000 feet. Other State parks are Big Bend State Ranch Park, Fort Davis State Park, Balmorhea State Park, and not too far from Guadalupe National Park or Carlsbad Caverns and the Lincoln National Forest in New Mexico (about 3 hours). But you are probably looking for the kind of rocks you make jewelry from. You might have better luck in New Mexico. Lots of public land there, too. Texas looks like there is a lot of empty spaces but most of it is privately owned and you can't just go out and explore it freely, thus all of the parks. Ever been to Aarkansas? I hear that you can pick up raw diamonds on the ground, especially after a good rain.

**This is wierd. I did not repeat the word "merge" in my original text and it doesn't show up twice when I try to edit it. When I delete it anyway, it doesn't show up at all. WTF? I couldn't get to the clan forum on the home page, either, because the pull down menu is under all the other ads and menus. Having some compatability issues with the new site I suppose.

Yes, i know about the diamonds in Arkansas. I plan on visiting the place where you find them in the future.

And yes, i do hunt for gems, but not necessarily gems that can be turned into Jewelry. They are nice to have, but they are only a small amount of the kind of stuff you can find. There are a lot of places here in colorado that are private property, with some great stuff known to be on the property. All you have to do is ask if you can look for it. Great example is Ruby Mountain down near Buena Vista. Eastern side of it is public land, but the western side is private. The best stuff is on the western side, so you gotta ask permission to collect. I know theres some nice blue Barite deposits on private property that i really want to go and check out.

Some parks have laws forbbiding collecting on them. I'd have to check if it's ok or not. I dunno.
