Tf2/Portal Issues?

Anyone have any idea why everytime I launch portal or tf2 it crashes my internet? I have some pretty nice internets, but if its doing that then I can't play. (My parents are both gamers and they keep getting pissed.)

This has been my universal solution for everything: Right-click, properties, verify integrity of game cache.

I don't know honestly, I can't try it unless my parents aren't around of they'd get pissed lol.
Haven't had a chance to, i'll probably try tonight.

It like with steam i also can't search for server, it crashes the internet,
I was curious if TF2 was doing something similar on boot up....for something or another ( i don't know)
