All of the above, and more of our apps are free. I have used both the iPhone and two different Android models, and I have to say, the apps available for the Android department are better priced and generally more user friendly then those on the iPhone. I mean, how long did it take Apple to figure out multi-tasking? Oh wait, they still haven't quite nailed that one yet, eh? :P
And how long does the battery last on those things? 5 hours if you are lucky?
Also, I have nothing against Jobs, only the poor super-restrictive software/hardware he produces. Why no rank?
Because that isn't why or how I play.

Re: Wireless Tethering
I was looking for tethering apps today for my Droid. Are you able to make any recommendations for free/not free?
I ended up getting PdaNet, but haven't tested it yet.
Also, when you tether, does it send out a signal to everyone, or can I WEP protect it or something?

All depends on if you have root or not. Unrooted, PdaNet is the way to go.
I have one which requires su permission (root), and can send out a signal which you can choose to protect via password or not. I'll find the .apk link for it in a minute. It can also link with Bluetooth instead if you want to route a Wifi signal through your phone to a Bluetooth device (can't see a good reason for this, but you can).
Edit: Found it! How To: Root Your Android Phone (SuperOneClick Method) | TheUnlockr Look for the WifiTethering.apk link in the 3rd section.Last edited by Dusk; 01-04-11 at 08:58 PM. Reason: link found

Fellow:
1. I have the first Moto Droid, so its the older one.
2. Your profile pic may be too big(either in actual size, or in amount of KB); there is a size limit. If it is too large, you can shrink it easily using Paint. Why no rank?

Tethering is something not normally included on most phones (some are already able to); it is generally done through exploits in the software of the phone if it is blocked, yada yada.
Basically (if using Android), you can use software which is installed on both the phone and computer to connect to the internet through the phone. There are many available, and my personal favorite is PDAnet.
With root privileges on the phone (again, Android), you can use the program listed in post 13 to easily (and wireless) tether on phone only software. Why no rank?
