    I think it just takes that long. We tamed one, and just run close then away over and over, and hit 0 any time we saw it was hungry. We did a fairly low level one and it took at least half an hour.

    Yeah, the taming takes awhile and its a pain...but one single ape results in so much fiber you can't use it all. We have so much fiber at our base that I don't even bother pulling off whatever Janet Reno (our ape) has collected.

    Finally got one, level 16. Took 1 hour.

    Unfortunately either we don't have much plants for picking in our base, because after couple days he only has 170 fiber on him. Still useful though.

    P.S. Has anyone ever seen a Titanoboa? We've been in caves before, but none of us have actually seen it. I would imagine stealing it's eggs would be a nasty business.

    The snakes aren't that bad. Spiders and Scorpions who are also in the caves both will knock you out so you will want to go with a buddy.
