    Arma 3 server Dev version

    Hi folks and greetings;
    Is there a Dev version server that is 'normally' used by the group??

    I would like to get one, I will bear all costs.

    I would like to know what folks think about the idea.
    1. private or public? we can change it back and forth
    2. No dots
    3. No tags
    4. No 3rd person view
    5. custom loadout and roles - or not?
    6. Wasteland mission - till more of the bugs get worked out

    No 3rd person limits the player base severely. Why not just play Bf3?

    If and when a second server opens up it would be nice if things were a little different / more hardcore.
    -I like the idea of removing player tags/colored dots in a hardcore setting. would force people to watch for uniforms and communicate better with team.
    -locked first person would make the game very different and unsure if i would like it.
    However I find that the 3 person view helps to make up for the environmental awareness that a video game cant provide in first person. Positional audio can only go so far in a game. I find that in close quarters that the 3rd person view makes up for the loss of the very fine positional audio you would otherwise have have IRL.
    I also think that locking to first person would indeed turn quite a few players off of the server.

    Server was ordered day before yesterday.
    I receive notice it was done on the host's part this morning.
    So now my work on it starts
    What I told the host I wanted to do was:

    1. private or public? we can change it back and forth
    2. No dots – provisional eyesight dots
    3. No tags – user tags
    4. No 3rd person view
    5. custom loadouts and roles
    6. Wasteland mission - till more of the bugs get worked out
    7. Auto restarts at midnight, 6am, noon and 6pm
    8. manual restart ability.
    9. kick and ban for username – GUID later (battleye)

    This is a 60+ player server.
    On wasteland with inly 20 Sq. clicks I feel 40 players is to many.
    I may start this server out at 20 players (still thinking about it)
    It is based in Los Angleles.
    I may put a ping restriction on it to keep out the very high pings.

    I am going to need a few 'testers' not gamers - real testers.

    This is not going to be a 'throw' together and play server.
    This will be hardcore - 'Real Wasteland'

    I see to many games where all that counts is kills.
    Thats just not real - this server will be as real as it can be made.
    Run n Guns and/or frag-fest folks will not make it.

    You will be tested to your limit and the servers limit.

    Any input on this is welcome.

    Obviously if you want to start your own server that's up to you. However, just as McDonalds wouldn't want you walking in and attempting to sell their customers on a Whopper, we can't have you advertising a competing server here. Nothing personal, but thems the rules.
