My god I couldn't believe how big it was until this video. The map is seriously gigantic. Consider myself in awe.

I can't wait for the new island. I should really start practicing flying as it will be very much needed in Altis. (I suck at landing except for auto hover). And don't ever ask me to fly AND shoot.

Is TPG going to host a server on Altis? And if so is it going to be a much larger player count? I was comparing the Stratis and Altis maps and it seems like you can honestly fit 6 or 7 Stratis's into Altis. Like Viven was saying with the map being so large it could be relatively lonely as even on Stratis some areas don't really see much action.

We will give it a go, the player count will depend on the devs and their ability to allow a high player count to run stable. So far from what we have seen 50-60 players is about the limit before you start getting a ton of lag and or the server will crash. I see a few servers today that show up to 80 players but I am not sure how stable they are and rarely see them full.

We will see how things go.

I spent a solid hour flying around the map earlier today. It just blows my mind how big this thing is but also how well constructed it seems to be. I feel like every potential base on Altis offers something that players will be attracted to as opposed to Stratis where there are clearly places more advantageous than others. I'm really looking forward to seeing this map in full swing.

What I would like and hope to see is the ability to utilize certain areas of Altis. This would allow some flavor and constant change to a 50-60 player server. Like at every mission restart a different portion of Altis is used as the map.

It is obvious to me that many are getting burnt out on Stratis.
