    altis doesnt suck, and the main reason for everyone lagging is cause there is no 404 wasteland edition up yet. its joschapp and the other ones. meaning food buckets and water cans are in the game. every time you die or kill someone, or even respawn that drops 2 buckets on the ground. also the clean-up scripts for those version tend to not work. i have also noticed that the clean up scripts on the two stratis servers is a little buggy. doesnt always work.

    I've seen a couple of decent Altis servers so far, but most of them are not running wasteland mods. My crew played on an 80 man co-op tactical server during the dev build and it ran for hours like butter.

    I'm hoping the new wasteland mod will be able to handle those kind of #'s too!! we are gonna need the extra people with the size of this map

    That's true Ace, though I'm hoping the size of Altis will encourage teams to work closer together in the use of spawns and asset management. If they do that then hopefully the various missions that spawn on the island will create avenues of approach that will encourage large encounters. I played on a server that had a pretty fun "Bounty" mission that selected a player from either team and put them on the map. The person who killed that player got (large relevant cash amount) and the rest of the team got 1/10th of that amount. If the target wasn't killed, the defending team received the award parameters. It was an awesome system that really helped direct both teams to a single point on the map and at that point, it didn't really matter that there was only 50 people on.

    Yea the Bounty system was pretty cool. Having to buy most things really put emphasis on capturing areas and completing missions for cash. Capturing areas for a small amount of cash also told the server where Blufor, Opfor, and Indie were operating. And Gun Store/Gun Runner/General Store said if Enemy/Friendly players were there.

    Things like that made the map feel a little smaller as you knew approximately where enemies were. Made Helicopters critical.

    My only complaint about the version we played was Tanks were still on Mission. I think on those, you should have to stockpile money as a team to purchase. So doing multiple missions to sell off guns and such to buy a tank/armed heli would bring everyone together at missions.
    I never miss. I simply fire warning shots.
