Bullet penetration
Saw this on reddit, figured ya'll would appreciate.
Original thread: ArmA's bullet penetration system: quite impressive actually. : arma
According to this guy, bullet penetration depends on:
- angle, speed, and type of bullet being fired
- thickness and material of wall/obstacle
- density of target (meat?)
Cool stuff!!

Re: Bullet penetration
Huh, nice! I never noticed, haha. Though, I'm not surprised given the realistic bullet simulation that arma already has.... Just need destructive environments now... Oh wait, is this only arma 3? Or did arma 2 have this as well?

Re: Bullet penetration
Yea I am not sure what type of server Lenymo tossed up on his home PC but it had a shooting range. With Bullet Aim. (Fire a shot and your camera follows the bullet). We were testing overall speeds of rounds. The richocets were incredible. Hitting a target at 1600 meters hitting ground and taking flight again.
Very interesting results. On bullet travel speed. Every target hit told you the travel speed of the bullet. We definitely found the Lynx was faster than Cheetah
Zafir was 1300mph at 1.6km.Last edited by Echelon; 09-13-13 at 04:46 PM.
I never miss. I simply fire warning shots.
