Shellshocked Escapees
Here's my hat off to: David, Merritt, Sheriff, and Salty for an epic run of Escape last night. If there ever was a game that could give one PTSD, that was it. I don't know where to begin, with being surrounded by enemies? Attack choppers making rocket runs on us? Having to fight our way into an outpost with enemies on our heels only to find out we're on a peninsula and have to fight our way right back out? Being ambushed by enemy APCs as we pushed through a company's worth of enemies along the coast and then seeing our positions hit by artillery? ALMOST killing all the turned out crew in an APC....
No, I know. It was trying to sneak through a valley before the enemy SpecOps paratroopers on our tail caught up with us, and failing. Surrounded in a broken house in the low grounds, as the enemy searched with flashlights, closing in on our position, troop transports regularly dropping off additional units to hunt us down, as we desperate 5 marched on, ammo counts dangerously low and hounded every step of the way.
I don't know about you guys, but I feel like we need a badge or something for that run. Also maybe some counseling for our shell shock......I feel like I'm going to be having nightmares of that ruined house.

Hell Max you guys were all off of Steam by the time we started at around 12:00 am. We didn't go to bed till around 6;00 that morning. That last run was epic. So many times during previous missions we could tell the ARMA world was against us. Hell one time we loaded up the game and there was a fucking tank sitting on a hill not 50 meters from the compound. Another time we ran to an industrial complex that almost turned into the Alamo till we blasted our way out as more armor showed up, took out a technical and I started ferrying 2 guys at a time out of the hot zone. We finally make it behind some hill and start to regroup when a freaking hellcat comes out of nowhere and firebombs the truck leaving Salty as the only guy not flopping on his belly like a fish..........um till the troop carrier showed up with 30 more spec ops. FML
Night like that makes me want to drink heavily and pass out before I even turn on my computer.

Those games were incredible, and tough as nails. That last attempt where the spec ops patrol that followed us along the coast up through the mountains and boxed us in outside that town was one of the best gunfights I've ever had in a game. And synchronizing our shots to take out that APC crew was too awesome (even though we had to blow it up anyways)
I can't wait to try again
