Thread: Unofficial poll: indestructible cinder?

I'm curious if you'd be willing to deal with indestructible cinder if it was way more rarer?

(well, checking the Arma II/DayZ header was not what I was expecting, can that be removed please? I can't do it)

No. Cinder is about to get tougher to crack open with .3 so I see no need for indestructible cinder and never did in the first place.

Indestructible cinder has its place. But not on a server with an appreciable population. Im looking forward to seeing the change in .3. Tough is one thing, indestructible is another and one im not a fan of.

Destructible.

Sooo many reasons.

1. Reaching building limits + server performance

2. PVP gameplay - the focus of our server

3. Many of the higher pop servers run indestructible and we attract players because we have destructible

4. 0.3 is making it tougher to destroy walls. But we already spawn in SUBSTANTIAL increased building supplies loot to shift the balance in favor of bases being built better, tougher than stock epoch.

It should be destructible because of what I'm about to share has been kept a secret until now...

Last week. The time was a few hours before server restart. The place was the heavily wooded area about a klick south of factory. We were creeping through the woods along the edge of the tree line on the north side of the dirt road. We were monitoring a pvp engagement between two factions until citizen and his crew came upon us and a 2.5 hour engagement ensues with the bulk of the combat moving up towards factory and northward beyond that. Trigger and myself moved into factory and attempted to hold it. It looked like some people were hoping to use it as a base since there was stuff everywhere.

I had to get going so I logged out inside factory while everyone else continued fighting up to the north of factory.

24 hours later, I log back in at factory to find that the place had been fully built up into a base with the giant metal doors and heavy walls completely locking down the building and the area. I was trapped inside an enemy base, all of the crawl sized openings in the wall had been covered, and the gates covered with concrete walls. There was one tiny hole in a wall that talkos was able to slip me a vehicle repair kit through. I used it to repair a flatbed truck inside the compound, which I then repeatedly rammed into the wall until it collapsed and I drove away to freedom before the owners returned. Having indestructible walls would kind of suck. Explosive charges and the like are uncommon enough that they don't ruin the game, and allow for enough different options to keep things interesting.

I didn't want to, but they left me no choice. I was trapped inside a base with no exit, I spent a good 30 minutes looking for a way out. Knocking down a wall was my only option; how was I supposed to know they'd build a wall around me while I was logged out
