Re: Some Testing
They shouldnt be super rare only as rare as a satchel charge, bases are becoming huge right now and having no way to raid them is taking tfun out of the game. i personally enjoy raiding base and being able to lock pick my way in whilst the player is inside sounds good to me especially if he doesnt hear me coming in. Me rooster and tortoise used about 6 cars 5 stachels 5 explosives charges yesterday to TRY and bring down a single wall it didnt happen its stupid.

Re: Some Testing
Its only the same as blowing into somebodys wall in the middle of the night emptying shelves. The lockpicks wont be 100% guaranteed to break in they will have a 20-30% chance to break in and 20-90% chance to electrocute you when your trying to break in. I literally have found maybe 40 satchels in this server since the wipe and used everyone and got no where not even blown on wall down. Now IRL i could chop through a metal wall with an axe and even a sledge to get through a cinder wall. Epoch devs have made bases indestructible and everyone who knows this has abused this i myself have a base that's indestructible with cinder walls sitting inside metal walls. i dont plan on making my base any bigger i have 2 doors to get into my loot thats it i dont care if i get raided i want to get raided as it gives more to do by re-gearing i myself will be one of these easy targets for lockpicks and im all for them. Bases need raiding and making people move base cause these big huge bases with 100's of wall effect the server performance and nothing to do bout them only lets them get bigger and bigger.

Re: Some Testing
If you've truly found 40 satchels since the wipe then I'd defiantly prefer to make lock picks more rare then satchels. Personally I think lock picks aren't worth it because they are based on luck. Id rather wait until walls are fixed because then you know how well you need to protect your base or how well it is defended. Plus this could open a new can of worms of people claiming their base was glitched into when in reality they just got lock picked.

Re: Some Testing
All base components are vulnerable. My opinion, and this is just my opinion, is that when building parts are placed inline with one another each piece is coupling its damage value together. A corrugated wall all by itself will go down with a single satchel but put the wall on a floor with other walls now it takes 4-5. It has to be the way the Epoch code is ready the models for each component and then attempting to apply any damage.
Placing items into the ground is another problem all together but is a similar conversation. The damage is being redirected either into the ground model or the building component is getting a damage bonus from the map model.
