So you want a new Mod
Arma 3 Exile Dayz Apocalypse - Queue the cubic shit ton of mods for download
Exile Apocalypse Chernarus - Servers - Exile Mod
Arma 3 Desolation Redux - Don't get your hopes up for playing any time soon as they are in "closed Alpha".
ArmA 3 Desolation Redux
Arma 3 Edict - Don't get it confused with Exile but it is like Redux in that the servers are offline, its in alpha/beta/omega
**their website design is just like Redux's
https://www.arma3edict.com/
Shit is stale right now so other than pulling a Merritt and downloading a 7+ year old game to get that "ol feeling" back what does one do. As much as I despise having to load a ton of mods to play on a server I am tempted to try out Apocalypse. However, there is only one server so will it be a crap shoot to get on?
Alternatively, I have been eye fucking the hell out of Escape from Tarkarov due to my lack of a good squad based game. The problem with it is that it is in closed alpha still and unless you fork over 140.00 bucks you have to wait till beta to begin. Seriously, enough with the damn alpha/beta BS. Either you have a game that's ready or you don't.

So you want a new Mod

Couple of us are trying out Viruz mod
VIRUZ | Arma 3 MOD - Home
Again mods are hefty but not as big as some and everything is through Steam Workshop except for the actual @Viruz. The zombies seem a little different and are actually a challenge sometimes. Loot seems a little sparse as well which I like.
On a side note I found out that if you try to join a server through the built in launcher the "mods needed" screen will give you a nice little drop down box that will take you to the mod download page in your default browser.

Re: So you want a new Mod
I looked for populated "Viruz" servers in the list last night and there were none. Out of 15 or so servers only a handful had 3-6 players on them. From ready their forums the popularity is falling after their issues with the Exile group. I did however manage to get onto the Exile Apocalypse server last night for about 30 minutes and from my short run from Berezino to the NEAF I liked what I saw. The map is nicely customized with a large number of BZ buildings being changed out with ones you can enter and the loot tables felt right. I would like to give this one another go with few others to see if it really offers a Dayz feeling in an Arma3 world.

Arma 3 Exile Dayz Apocalypse
Exile Apocalypse Chernarus - Servers - Exile Mod
Good mod and they cut back on one or two of the needed mods, one of which was the Chernarus Isles which I saw side chat about CCG purchasing the rights to it. After putting a few hours into it I like it, the loot tables are great, the chopper crashes are great, the modified/enterable buildings are great, and to top it off this guy has recreated DayZ standalone playable areas (thanks to Source for pointing it out).

Re: So you want a new Mod
I downloaded Desolation Redux which went Open Alpha 2 weeks or so ago. I played maybe 2 hours within the first couple days it was out. It was a bit buggy but they released a bug fix patch on the 9th and haven't had a chance to check it out.
I've got pretty high hopes for this mod. My general thought is give it another month or two to get the major wrinkles out and it should be pretty good.
I saw alot of things I liked and notice a great deal of potential. The zombies seem pretty good balance wise. They've added a pile of assets, The map seemed fairly beefed up with a lot of enterables on Cherno. The base building also seems like it'll be done right in terms of size of bases. Pretty good crafting although I didn't get really deep into it in 2 hours. They need to optimize the loot tables, which now that they've released the server files I'm sure the larger communities/hosts will be tweaking with guys like Maca cleaning things up and optimizing the gameplay.
Maybe it's been enough time already - but definitely within another month or two I think we'll see something pretty enjoyable and clean.
